José David Rangel is a retired Mexican midfielder best known for his defensive presence in the midfield. Over his career, he played for several top Mexican clubs including Atlético Potosino, Tampico Madero, Cruz Azul, Toluca, Atlante, and Jaguares. Internationally, he represented Mexico at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics and earned five senior caps for the national team. After retiring, Rangel moved into coaching, serving as an assistant at Santos de Soledad and Potros UAEM—where he helped secure promotion to Ascenso MX—before joining Toluca’s coaching staff in 2016. He is now happy to be volunteering with Atlético, where he is dedicated to helping develop the next generation of professional players.
