Atlético Code of Conduct

Download 🇲🇽

It is the policy of Atlético Santa Rosa that members conduct themselves in a sporting and positive manner when representing Club Atlético Santa Rosa in games, practices, tournaments, and other club-related activities. No club member should act in a way that discredits the club. Club members are defined as players, parents, guardians, coaches, trainers, and other club supporters.

The following acts or activities are strictly prohibited. These rules apply directly to any member of Atlético Santa Rosa. Any club member found to have committed any of the following offenses may be subject to disciplinary action.

  • Falsification of records.
  • Use, consumption, and/or possession of any illegal drugs or alcoholic beverages.
  • Tobacco use in any form may not be consumed within 200 yards of practices or games.
  • Offensive or vulgar language or gestures.
  • Participation in illegal activities while traveling with the club.
  • Inappropriate attire that violates social norms of decency.
  • Offensive, lewd, or indecent acts.
  • Hostile or abusive acts, language, or threats toward people or officials.
  • Firearms are prohibited.
  • Littering.
  • Provoking or inducing confrontations.
  • Throwing, casting, or propelling any object.
  • Driving recklessly or dangerously with club members present.

Interference by Spectators

Atlético considers encouraging violent play, foul language, intimidation, or unsportsmanlike behavior by a spectator to constitute interference in the game.

It is the responsibility of the head coach, with the help of the assistant coach and the team manager, to ensure that all team members comply with this policy.

Procedures

To ensure compliance with this policy, the following procedures are instituted.

Team Coaches Must:

  • Exercise their authority to substitute any player who is in violation of this policy.
  • Exercise their authority to order any non-player member of the club to be removed from the field area if that person is in violation of this policy.

The President Must:

  • Investigate all reports involving a player.
  • Initiate a corrective action plan in collaboration with the team coach and the manager.

Code of Conduct for Members of Atlético Santa Rosa

Each club member (player, parent, coach, board member, or any person with approved membership for ASR) will be responsible for behaving in accordance with the policy, as well as the following rules:

  1. As a member, I represent Atlético Santa Rosa, its teams, and the Santa Rosa community as a whole. My behavior must be exemplary at all club games and functions. I will behave as a role model at all times. I understand that I am obligated to follow all ASR rules and all rules of US Soccer, US Youth Soccer, NCPL, and US Club Soccer.
  2. I understand that, as a member, punctuality is critical to the success of each team, and I will do my part to ensure punctuality in the appropriate capacity (whether as a player or parent, etc.).
  3. I understand that I am responsible for paying all team fees and any fines. Failure to pay team fees/fines in a timely manner may result in my suspension from the team until said fees are paid.
  4. I recognize the importance of volunteer treasurers and managers. They are essential to the development of each team and player. I agree to be respectful of these treasurers/managers and foster a positive and enjoyable experience for all.
  5. I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, and referees at every game, practice, or other soccer event. I will applaud a good effort in both victory and defeat. I will refrain from using abusive or profane language at all times. I will accept the decisions of the referees on the field as fair, and to the best of said referees’ ability. I will not criticize referees, opposing teams, players, coaches, and fans in word or gesture. I will never verbally insult a player, parent, coach, or official.
  6. I will report all injuries to the coach in a timely manner. I will place the emotional and physical well-being of the players and teammates above my personal desire to win.
  7. I will refrain from consuming alcohol, tobacco, and drugs at all youth soccer events. I hereby commit to providing support, care, and positive encouragement to my child when participating in the ASR club by following the Code of Conduct.
  8. I understand that, if I do not follow these rules of conduct, my membership in Club ASR may be affected, as determined by the board of directors or the club president.

Play with Integrity: One of the most important lessons a child can learn from sport is to follow the rules. Make sure your team understands the rules and does not break them, even if they have the opportunity to do so.

Respect the Officials: It is important to teach not only our young athletes, but also our parents and coaches to respect referees and officials. Our children are attentive and notice when parents and coaches are disrespectful.

Be a Good Sport: This means doing everything possible to lift up our teammates and help them reach their potential. Being a good teammate also means being a good person on and off the field, regardless of the outcome.

Maintain Self-Control: Stay calm, maintain a positive attitude, and don’t overreact during practices or games. Encourage other players.

Let the Coaches Coach: Avoid giving your coaching advice to the team or other parents. Let those in charge direct the plays.

Sanctions that the club may impose include:

Repeated or serious violations of this policy may result in sanctions that include an oral or written reprimand, monitoring of future behavior by an external official, and/or probationary status. Any sanction will be imposed only after adequate warning, notice of the alleged violation, and a hearing before the appropriate officials.

  1. If any match is interrupted due to behavioral issues, the parties involved must serve a suspension from the NorCal PAD Committee and a club suspension.
  2. Depending on the severity of the incident, various suspensions may include the following disciplinary actions by the club.
  1. Suspension of 3 months from practices and games.
  2. Suspension of 6 months from practices and games.
  3. Suspension of 1 year from practices and games.
  4. Release from the club.
